Meet Mel!
Mel Brown McGinnis is an attorney, renowned author, poet, life coach, certified sports agent and motivational speaker. She's been writing poetry and prose since childhood. Mel has been a featured poet in spokenword showcases throughout the DFW area and she is a sought after speaker on various inspirational topics. Mel serves on the Board of Trustees of Medical City North Hills Hospital, and served five (5) years on the Board of Directors of the Jubilee Theatre in Fort Worth, Texas.
Mel had the honor of being Co-Executive Producer of the feature film "Beneath the Scar" by Dr. Samone Brown, which highlights the issue of domestic violence on college campuses.
A Louisiana native, Mel earned her Bachelor's Degree in English Literature and Mass Communications/ Journalism (minor), and her Juris Doctorate from LSU in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She enjoys researching family history and ancestry, photography, shopping, traveling, competitive running, and planning weddings.
When she's not on the move or enjoying one of her many hobbies, she can be found catching episodes of her favorite soap operas and TV shows from the 80's and 90's, and watching HGTV. Mel is happily married, and lives by the motto that "Success is Intentional, so do it on Purpose."
